The Santa Cruz Wharf sustained major damage by powerful surf

Major damage to the Santa Cruz Wharf and Harbor!

Sad day in Santa Cruz as a section of the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf collapsed into the Monterey Bay as the structure was battered on Monday by powerful surf. Three workers inspecting the wharf fell into the choppy ocean waves and had to be rescued, said city officials who fear the next storm could cause more damage. No one was injured in the mishap, but much of the debris, including one of the wharf’s bathrooms, was carried by the surf onto nearby Seabright Beach and witnessed a huge wave come and slam boats in the harbor, knocking a catamaran loose. Everyone stay safe if you’re near the coast High tide is still 2.5 hours away.

I’m sure many people have fond memories from going to the Wharf.
