UK introduces mandatory travel permit for Europeans starting from April 2.
Beginning Wednesday April 2 , European citizens visiting the UK will need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), an obligatory entry permit, marking a dramatic change in travel laws. According to the UK government, the goal of this action is to strengthen border security. The ETA is valid for two years and permits trips for up to six months.
You can get the ETA online or through a smartphone app. The cost, which is currently £10 (€12) will increase to £16 on April 9.
including all EU member states except Ireland, will be required to possess an electronic permit to gain entry into the United Kingdom.
is reported that only the pressure from London Heathrow airport, forced the government to rescinded the additional bizarre requirement for the transit passengers to also obtain an ETA.
