15.05.2025 Spain : Before derby Barcelona – Espanyol, a woman was driving a white Peugeot. She ran over a girl, after which fans began to smash the car. The victim was pulled out, but the car continued moving and crushed other fans
There was widespread uproar around the RCDE Stadium prior to the Espanyol-Barcelona match. The vehicle attempted to overtake the mass of RCD Espanyol fans who were on the public road at the moment. Seeing that the car intended to pass, some spectators battered and abused the driver.
The accident caused 14 minor injuries, however no one was killed in the tragedy.
Barcelona won the Catalan derby with goals from Lamine Yamal and FermÃn López, securing their 28th league title.
