According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Myanmar was hit by a strong earthquake today with a magnitude of 7.7. A powerful 6.4-mag aftershock occurred around 12 minutes after the earthquake, which occurred at 12:50 p.m. thailand time.
Tremors shook buildings in Bangkok, prompting evacuations. The quake is rare for the region raising concerns in the densely populated Thailand capital, Bangkok.
The iconic Ava Bridge in Myanmar’s Mandalay reportedly collapsed into the Irrawaddy River and several buildings coll, according to temporary reports.
